Introduction

This is an extension of our ClearClock® line of products. They are low-power HCSL SMD XOs available in industry standard 2016, 2520, and 3225 package sizes. They are capable of typical supply currents as low as 12-15mA.

Low-Power HCSL (LP-HCSL) was initially developed to minimize the power consumption associated with traditional HCSL drivers. However, LP-HCSL offers a range of additional benefits, including enhanced performance when driving lengthy traces, simplified AC-coupling, reduced demands onboard space, easier routing on the board, and a reduction in the Bill of Material (BOM) costs. Notably, it's important to highlight that an HCSL receiver cannot differentiate between a traditional HCSL driver and an LP-HCSL driver. Additionally, this product has integrated termination resistors and requires no external components, making it ideal for PCIe applications. LP-HCSL not only delivers substantial power savings but also excels in driving extended traces, conserving board real estate, cutting BOM expenses, and facilitating the handling of AC-coupled transmission lines.
