Abracon Announces Compact Chip Antenna Solutions for GPS and Asset Tracking

AUSTIN, Tx. (November 9, 2016) Abracon Holdings, LLC. With an optimal trade-off between size and RF efficiency, the ACA-104 and ACA-106 antennas deliver robust performance in a space-saving 3.0mm x 1.5mm x 1.2mm form factor. Rugged ceramic construction supporting -40C to 85C operating temperature range ideally suits them for the demanding requirements of industrial applications.

The ACA-106 supports BEIDOU, GPS and GNSS bands from 1555MHz to 1610MHz enabling a single SKU to operate world-wide. If offers -1.6dBi to -0.8dBi of gain dependent on band. The ACA-104 supports 1575MHz band and offers -4dBi of gain.

Optimize end system design, Abracon offers antenna tuning services that measure gain and center frequency of the end system and confirm in-circuit performance of the antenna. In cases when the antenna is de-tuned due to non-optimal layout, ground plane or other issues, Abracon will recommend the optimal values to use on the pi-network matching the impedance between the RF IC and the antenna.
