Abracon | Continuous Voltage Oscillator Family

Continuous Voltage Oscillator Family

Designers seeking to utilize a common local oscillator across multiple voltages in their system will benefit from Abracon's Continuous Voltage oscillator family. The Simple Package Crystal Oscillator (SPXO) and Temperature Compensated Crystal Oscillator (TCXO) devices are designed to support low power and battery-powered designs requiring reduced overall system power budget. Abracon’s Continuous Voltage family offers a wide range of supply voltage while still maintaining various operating temperatures and stability options.

SPXO Series

The MHz and kHz SPXO series are designed for simplicity and optimized for low power consumption while providing low RMS jitter performance at any voltage between 1.60 V and 3.60 V, the more common ones being 1.8V, 2.5V, 3.0V, and 3.3V. The oscillators can drive multiple loads and typically exhibit better EMI performance compared to commodity crystal oscillator solutions. The devices can help the designer reduce component count and optimize their Bill of Material.

The Continuous Voltage oscillators are well-suited for WiFi, Bluetooth, MCU, USB, Ethernet, local area networking (LAN), medical, industrial control and automation, consumer electronic, and WANS designs. Available in CMOS/HCMOS/LVCMOS, these devices provide limitless application potential, especially for battery-powered designs requiring operation throughout a battery’s life span.

TCXO Series

Abracon’s ATX-H11, ATX-H12, and ATX-H13 temperature-compensated oscillator (TCXO) series are particularly suited for space-constrained and power-constrained devices with Wi-Fi, GPS, and Bluetooth services. These devices provide tight stability down to ±2ppm for applications that require a precision timing solution for functions such as telecommunications, navigation, and positioning. They are also capable of stability as low as 5 or 10ppm at an extended operating temperature range of -40 to +105C.

Looking at the table below, the primary differences between the series within this TCXO family are the package sizes. Engineers looking to simplify their design can use these oscillators as drop-in replacements, requiring minimal design work while eliminating bias-dependent frequency variation and bias-specific selection of clocking sources.

Automotive Grade

Transportation applications require components with enhanced durability and performance. Abracon’s ASEKDVAIG, ASAKDVAIG, ASDKDVAIG are AEC-Q200 qualified and manufactured on fully certified IATF 16949 production lines, giving long term reliability while reducing its cost. Our automotive grade products are offered at a wide operating temperature range from -40°C to +125°C, supporting applications like in-vehicle networking or GPS/navigation. The AIG Continuous Voltage series can be dropped in various voltage supplies making it easier to implement in a design requiring different voltages. With a wide operating temperature range optimized for low current consumption, these devices are a favorable option for automotive or industrial use.
