2023 is behind us and 2024 is well on its way, but here at Abracon we want to take time to celebrate a historic year of NPIs. We’re proud to announce the release of a company record 46 new product introductions in 2023 spanning across our lines Frequency Control, Timing, Power, Magnetics, RF and Antenna solutions.
Among the wide collection of product releases, we picked a few that we feel truly highlight our passion and drive to innovate for tomorrow’s designs.
AOTA Series Mini Molded Inductors
From our line of power and magnetics line, these mini-molded inductors embody the full spectrum of benefits found in traditional molded inductors, boasting superior EMI shielding, high power density, and minimal core losses, all within a compact size. These inductors excel in mitigating unwanted EMI, handling substantial power loads, and maintaining low core losses. This results in heightened signal integrity, space efficiency, and improved energy efficiency within electronic circuits.
The extension of molded inductor technology to smaller package sizes emphasizes Abracon's commitment to addressing the needs of the electronics industry. These compact inductors seamlessly blend size efficiency with outstanding performance, providing engineers with the tools to craft electronic systems that are not only more compact but also more reliable and efficient.
Low Power HCSL ClearClock™ Oscillators
An extension to our existing line of ClearClock™ line of crystal oscillators, the LP-HCSL (low power HCSL) presents a range of added advantages, including enhanced performance for driving extended traces, simplified AC-coupling, reduced demands on onboard space, easier routing on the board, and a decrease in bill of material (BOM) costs. Furthermore, this product is equipped with integrated termination resistors and necessitates no external components, making it particularly well-suited for PCIe applications. Not only does LP-HCSL deliver significant power savings, but it also excels in propelling extended traces, preserving board real estate, reducing BOM expenses, and facilitating the handling of AC-coupled transmission lines.
High Precision, High Accuracy GNSS Antennas
One of many additions to RF & antenna portfolio, these High Precision GNSS antennas cater to diverse fields requiring precise location data. Specifically designed for multi-constellation support, these antennas find applications across various domains. Not only do Abracon's high precision GNSS antennas enhance efficiency, but they also ensure high accuracy and precision in communications. This state-of-the-art GNSS solution from Abracon is poised to redefine your expectations of accuracy in location-based services.
EDLC 2.7V & 3V Radial Supercapacitors
Abracon's 2.7V & 3V Supercapacitors leverage the latest double-layer technology in the industry, achieving remarkable energy and power densities. With a versatile range of combinations of these characteristics, these supercapacitors find application in scenarios requiring rapid charge/dissipation or sustained power output. Operating efficiently in temperature ranges as low as -40°C, they surpass the capabilities of traditional batteries. Moreover, these Supercapacitors boast an extended usage lifecycle and eliminate safety concerns associated with lithium batteries.
Fox FTxMN-Series Clipped Sine Wave TCXOs
Fox, a global leader in producing innovative frequency control technology and part of the Abracon family of brands, announced the release of the FTxMN-Series Clipped Sine Wave TCXOs. The FT1MN, FT2MN, and FT3MN series of temperature-compensated crystal oscillators (TCXO) present a range of package sizes, stability options, and temperature ranges. With the flexibility of continuous voltage supply, these TCXOs can operate seamlessly with 1.8V, 2.5V, or 3.3V voltage supplies, catering to a diverse array of applications.
NEL 10 MHz Ultra-Low Phase Noise OCXOs
Part of the Abracon family of brands, NEL is a US-based manufacturer of ultra-low phase noise crystal oscillators and modules. In 2023, Abracon and NEL announced the release of our 10 MHz Ultra-Low Phase Noise OCXOs.
Delivering industry-leading close-in phase noise within a compact 36 x 27mm Through Hole Euro package, the O-CE70S OCXO operates with a 5V supply and provides a Sinewave output. This oscillator exhibits exceptional low phase noise, measuring at -91 dBc/Hz @ 0.1 Hz Offset, -123 dBc/Hz @ 1 Hz Offset, -151 dBc/Hz @ 10 Hz Offset, -162 dBc/Hz @ 100 Hz Offset, and -172 dBc/Hz on the floor. Its outstanding performance makes it ideally suited for applications such as Instrumentation, Test and Measurement, Radar, and other scenarios demanding superior phase noise performance in a compact form factor.
Trans-Inductor Voltage Regulator (TLVR) Inductors
New to Abracon’s portfolio in 2023, TLVR inductors mark a substantial leap forward in power delivery technology. Engineered with a specialized high-frequency magnetic composition, these inductors excel at minimizing transient responses to virtually negligible levels in multi-phase voltage regulators. This innovative design far exceeds the capabilities of conventional Voltage Regulator Module (VRM) approaches. Benefits of these TLVRs include swift responses to transient loads, reduced system impedance, and increased energy efficiency.
ABSE/ABSN Series SAW Filters
Abracon's latest SAW filter offerings adhere to industry-standard dimensions, available in sizes of 3.0 x 3.0mm and 1.4 x 1.1mm. These bandpass SAW filters cover frequencies from 836.5 MHz to 1880 MHz, making them well-suited for applications such as precise location and consumer electronics. Engineered with low insertion loss and optimized attenuation, these filters contribute to the enhanced performance of RF systems. Additionally, their support for low power consumption in a compact form factor makes them an ideal solution for portable devices or battery-operated projects.
